I told myself that I would be smart and try to understand all of this, but it was too much for me. The truth is beyond us. It's far too deep. So I decided to learn everything I could and become wise enough to discover what life is all about.

Words can't express how much I appreciate all your love, support and prayers. To Nanay, Tootsie and Nonoy Tot, I love you. To Mam Lanie and Mam Mhay, thank you for making me strong and for making me a part of your family. To my mentors who unselfishly shared their knowledge to me. To my bunkmates and Juniors, I will miss you. And those unmentioned, I may not thank you but the lord will never forget to bless you all.

Your word is a lamp that gives light wherever I walk. Thank you Lord for the blessings you have given. I will not be here without you...

Boating Knots

Boating Knots Expert...

Two Half Hitches

This reliable knot is quickly tied and is the hitch most often used in mooring. To tie:

  • * Pass the end of a rope around a post or other object.
  • * Wrap the short end of rope under and over the long part of rope, pushing the end down through the loop. This is a half hitch.
  • * Repeat on the long rope, below first half hitch, and draw tight.

Bowline
This knot does
not jam or slip when tied properly. To tie:
  • * Make the overhand loop with the end held toward you, then pass the end through the loop.
  • * Now, pass the end up behind the standing part, then down through the loop again.
  • * Draw tight.

Figure Eight
This knot is ideal for keeping the end of a rope from running out of a tackle or pulley. To tie:
  • * Make an underhand loop, bringing the end around and over the standing part.
  • * Pass the rope end under, then up through the loop.
  • * Draw tight.

Square Knot
This knot is used at sea for reefing and furling sails. To tie:

  • * Pass the left end of the rope over and under the right end. Curve what is now the left end toward the right, and cross what is now the right end over and under the left.
  • * Draw tight.

Anchor Bend
This knot is used to secure a rope or a line to an anchor. To tie:

  • *Pass two loops through a ring.
  • * Place the free end around a standing line.
  • * Pass the free end through loops.
  • * Complete by making a half hitch.

Clove Hitch

This knot is a general utility hitch for when you need a quick, simple method of fastening a rope around a post, spar or stake. To tie:
  • * Make a turn with the rope around the object and over itself.
  • * Take a second turn with the rope around the object.
  • * Pull the end up under the second turn so it is between the rope and the object; tighten by pulling on both ends.

BSMT Get Together @ Dumpit Farm 5 Years Ago...

As I was browsing my old stuff, I found old photos of my friends and teachers. It's really nice reminiscing this period of my life. Its there I met a lot of true people and real friends. There were also a lot of down moments but in general its a bliss.

Reminiscing through the old photo book
Almost hard to believe how people change
Isn't it quite amazing how we all looked?
Most of us do look a bit strange

So fun, so good. How I wish I can turn back time and relive those moments. I wish to be with our other friends again. Someday another Get together. I'm looking forward to it.

LOVE

LOVE

It hurts to love someone and not to be loved in return. But what is more painful is to love someone and never find the courage to let the person know how you feel, then regret it. May be God wants us to meet a fe
w wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift? Love is when you take away the feeling, the passion, and the romance in relationship – and find out that you still care for that person. A sad thing in life you meet someone who means a lot to you, only to find out in the end that it was not meant to be, and you just have to let go. When the door of happiness is closes, another opens, but oftentimes we look so long on the closed door that we do not see the one, which has opened for us. The best kind of friend is the kind whom you sit on the porch and swing with; never say a word, and then walk away the feeling like the best conversation you ever had. It is true that we do not know what we have until we lose it, but it is also true that we do not know what we have been missing until it arrives. Giving someone all your love is not an assurance that they will love you back. Do not expect love in return; just wait until it grows in their hearts. But if it does not, be contented that it grew in yours. There are things you would like to hear that you would never hear from the person whom you would like to hear them from, but do not be so deaf as not to hear it from the one who says it from his heart. Never say goodbye if you still want to try. Never give up if you feel you can go on. Never say you do not love a person anymore if you cannot let go. Love come to those who still hope although they have been disappointed, to those who still believe although they have been betrayed, to those who still love although they have been hurt before. It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone. But it takes a lifetime to forget someone. Do not go for looks for they can deceive, do not go for wealth, even that fades away. Go for someone who can make smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Hope you dream for special someone. Dream what you want to dream. Go where you want to go. Be what you can be. Because you have only one life and only one chance to do all the things you want. May be you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, and enough hope to make you happy. Always put yourself in other’s shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the person too. A careless word may kindle strife. A cruel word may wreck a life. A timely word may level stress. A loving word may heal and bless. The beginning of love is to let those we love just be themselves and not to twist them in our own image. Otherwise, we only love the reflection of ourselves we find in them. The happiest of people do not necessarily have the best of everything. They just make the most of everything that comes along their way. Happiness lies for those who cry, those who were hurt, those who searched, and those who have tried for only they can appreciate the importance of people who have touched their lives. Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a tear. The brightest future will always be based on forgotten past. You can’t go on well in life until you go of your past failures and heartaches. When you were born, you were crying, and everybody around you is smiling. Live lie so that when you die, you’re the one smiling, and everyone around you is crying.

MY PERSONAL CODE OF SELF-RESPECT

MY PERSONAL CODE OF SELF-RESPECT

I am a valuable because God created me with an inner value and worth. I do not have to earn it.

I improve my self-respect when I understand and accept that I have the basic inner value. The value is here. I don’t have to achieve it. I already have it. My challenge is to nurture and protect my inner value from getting jade or twisted by the misplaced values of a success at any cost oriented society.

If I can avoid the trap of trying to possess success or adorn myself with success at the expense of others, I can easily acquire self-respect. It is important to me to do things that project my inner value to other people.

My worth is my word. I make commitments, and I do what I say I will do. This is more important to me, it is crucial.

I say to others, “I am valuable as you are valuable will make a value of exchange. I will offer you the best I have and I hope you will give your best in return.”

THIS I BELIEVE:

I believe in myself.

I believe that all people have the equal right to

become all that they are willing and able to become.

I believe that I am as good as anyone else in the world.

Although I will never be on the cover of Time or People Magazine,

I still have to be one of the people who makes a really

positive difference in the world.

I believe although I may not be the best looking in the group,

I’ll always be looking in my every book.

I believe in my generation, and I believe we will build a better nation.

I believe that good health means more wealth.

I believe in caring and sharing, rather than comparing.

I believe all of the people I see, still I’d rather be ME!

"A Wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsel: to understand a a proverb and the interpretation; the words of the wise and their dark saving the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: But fool despise wisdom and instruction."

Graduating from my Alma Mater - The Philippine Merchant Marine Academy is just the beginning of my journey to the proverbial real word.

Be that as it may, the courage and confidence to face the challenges of the future depends on how prepared I am for this eventually. While modesty impels me to say that I may not be strong enough, I know deep in my heart that from now on, I will be able to overcome the challenges that may come my way.

To my mentors, who have honed much of my knowledge; to my buddies, peers and colleagues, who have made this journey worthwhile; and of course to my parents, brothers, sisters, love ones and most especially to the Lord Almighty, your guidance and support have made me whatever I am now, and your continuous inspiration will make me whatever I will be.

To all, thank you very much...

WOMAN

(Dedicated to every PMMA'ers Girlfriend)

If you’re well-dressed, she thinks you’re a playboy
If you’re not, she thinks you’re rugged
If you kiss her, you’re not a gentleman
If you don’t, you’re not a man

If you praise her, she thinks you’re lying
If you don’t, you’re good as nothing
If you agree with her likes, she is abusing
If you don’t, you’re not understanding

If you make romance, you’re an “experienced man”
If you don’t, you’re half a man
If you visit her, she claims it boring
If you don’t, she accuses you of double-crossing

If you propose love with brief acquaintances, you’re a fresh guy
If you postponed it later, she wonders why
If you fail to assist her in crossing the street, you’re lack of ethics
If you do, she thinks “it’s just one of man’s tactics”

If you visit another, she accuses you’re being a two timer
If she is visited by another, it’s natural for a girl
If you’re a minute late, she complains it’s hard to wait
If you came on time “for hours”, she makes you wait

If your jealous, she admonishes it’s bad
If you’re not, she doubts your love and not be glad
If you kiss her often, you’re abusing
If you kiss her once in a while, she professes your cold as nothing

If you attempt for romance, she says you don’t respect her
If you don’t, she thinks you don’t like her
If you listen, she wants you to talk
If you talk, she wants you to listen

If you contradict her, she does not like it
If you don’t, she thinks you’re gullible
Oh Woman! Thou art so simple, yet so complex to understand
So confusing yet so desirable

Tanker leaks oil after attack off Yemen

Tanker leaks oil after attack off Yemen

Monday, April 21, 2008
TOKYO — A suspected pirate ship fired on a Japanese oil tanker today off the eastern coast of Yemen, leaving a hole from which hundreds of gallons of fuel leaked, officials said. No one was injured.

The 150,000-ton tanker Takayama ( with 3/off Rodcyn Yumang) was attacked about 270 miles off the coast of Aden in southwestern Yemen while it was heading for Saudi Arabia, its Japanese operator, Nippon Yusen K.K., said in a statement.

None of its 23 crew members — seven Japanese and 16 Filipinos — were injured, the company said. The vessel left the South Korean port of Ulsan on April 4.

She said the tanker was heading to Aden for repairs, and its itinerary could change depending on the extent of the damage.

Transportation Ministry official Yoichi Oda said the attackers were believed to be pirates whose motive was not immediately known. The waters in the Gulf of Aden between Yemen and Somalia are considered prone to pirate attacks.

In late October, a Panamanian-registered chemical tanker operated by a Japanese shipping company was seized by pirates in nearby waters off Somalia's coast. All but one of its 23 crew members were freed unharmed in mid-December.

More than 260 vessels, including 10 Japanese ships, were attacked by pirates last year worldwide, Oda said, quoting International Maritime Bureau figures. Nearly 40 percent of the pirate attacks occurred off the coasts of Somalia, Nigeria and Yemen, where the number of incidents surged from the previous year.

Kyodo News agency said the tanker was hit by a rocket fired from a small boat.
